Common reasons visa applications get rejected
General guidance — exact rules vary by destination and consulate. Check the document checklist above for what specifically applies to your Sri Lanka application.
Passport validity too short
Most destinations require several months of validity remaining beyond your travel dates.
Prior immigration issues
An earlier overstay, deportation, or entry ban with this country can lead to automatic refusal.
Incomplete or mismatched documents
Names, dates and photos that do not match across documents are a common, avoidable cause of delay.
Multiple duplicate applications
Applying through more than one agent or portal for the same trip can flag your file for review.
